Exclamation Will My Work Permit Be Revoked and Can I Still Apply for Permanent Residency

    I currently reside in VA.
My ex gf says that she will go to the police and file a report against me, stating that I raped her. I'm here in the US on a work permit that I renew every year. With a report filed against me, will that affect my chances of renewing my work permit, or worse yet when I attempt to apply for permanet residency, will her report against me factor in as well?

A police report will certainly be looked at askance, but the larger issue is an arrest and conviction.

Default My Ex Girlfriend Says She's Going to File a Report Against Me for Rape

My question involves criminal law for the state of: VA

A crazy ex gf of mine is going to file a report against me for rape, and I just don't know what is going to happen. Will I be arrested?
I haven't spoken to her since August of 2011, but heard through a mutual friend that she's considering going to the police to file a report (though we haven't been together for over a year and a half) and I don't know why she's all of a sudden going to the police.
What usually happens in these situations where a girl just magically decides she wants to ruin someone's life with things that supposedly happened so long ago?

I'm pretty sure nothing will come of it since she's waiting over a year to report anything. I mean, police wouldn't have anything to go on but her word.

Yeah, larger picture would be those things, but does that even happen in the US? Are guys ever arrested for something reported way after the fact, when there's no evidence, no witnesses, and it just boils down to a he-said-she said, and the complaintant is clearly off her rocker and bitter?

I know I've posted quite a bit tonight, but I'm just curious. Could I actually be arrested on the word of my ex gf? What usually happens when someone files a report? Will I simply be asked questions, will I have to go "downtown?" I'm not sure if she really is going to try and report me for something seeing as we don't speak and I don't know what's on her mind, would I be questioned at home/work and everyone know thats she's accused me of rape?
