My question relates to legal practice in the state of: NJ
I have agreed to pay my ex to mmove out of our apratment. Her lawyer is suggesting that I deposit the check into an escrow account in his name. In exchange my ex will go to our landlord and take her name off the lease and transfer the security deposit into my name.
Should I expect a receipt from her lawyer? How does this work? What do I need to do to protect myself? Thanks.
