My question involves criminal law for the state of: NC
So I got a DWI at a police checkpoint and blew a .12, which gives me a schedule 5, the lowest category of DWI.
My question is, my friend was in the passenger's seat and I was driving his car, and the cop gave him an aiding and abetting ticket! (He's black and the cops were racist a-holes.) We were half a mile from the house and had a friend come to get the car. The cops refused to let a friend take the car and called a tow truck instead and impounded it. I got a DWI, he got his car towed and an aiding a abetting ticket.
How serious is this? He's on unsupervised probation already for a DUI he got 6 months ago! This whole thing is bull****. Now I find out there my lawyer might not be able to represent him because it could be a conflict of interest??
If you were in his shoes and you are short on cash, what would you do? ...Public defender? ..don't eat for 2 weeks, save money, and hire a lawyer? .. no lawyer required?
