My question involves a marriage in the state of:Texas
I have been separated from my spouse since September 2004. We were married June 0f 2004. Now having finally found the address of his parole officer, I can serve him with divorce papers. I am having trouble filing out the section for property. I understand that Texas is a community property state, but we did not own any property together when married, and even had separate funds and finances during the time we were together. Now that I have not seen him in 7-8 years, I have no idea about the property he has aquired since then, and I have no significant property my self (no car, house, land, bank accounts, etc.) I found a place where you can check a box that says "no property" on the petition, will this be satisfactory for the petition or will I have to prove we have no property to divide that I know of? I am filing pro se, since I have no funds to get a lawyer. Please help.
