I live in Michigan, and the husband of the girl lives in NC. He is threatening to sue for alienation of affection. Emails, phonecalls, and some pictures were exchanged between myself and her, but there was no physical contact between myself and the wife. I did not visit NC at any point during the conversations with the wife. It all began when she led me to believe she was ending the marriage, and even told me she had filed for divorce. I loaned her over $500 which I will probably never receive back, because he had emptied her bank account. I understand that NC does allow this law, but Michigan does not. Not only is he threatening to sue for alienation of affection, he has also threatened me by saying he will "ruin your life" and "cut your eyes out" if I ever came to NC and looked at his wife. I have the threats documented. Should I have anything to be concerned about him threatening to sue me? What are my options?
