MI is a no fault state. They should provide insurance for their own damages. You need to be prepared to give them a $500 civil demand. It is designed so the at fault party covers their deductible. Regarding your not having coverage, I don't know how actively MI pursues that. I would think not aggressively, as you are essentially only punishing yourself.
