My question involves a child custody case from the State of: Missouri
If my daughter's mother goes to prison, what happens to child support and back child support? Am I likely to gain custody of my daughter?

Generally, if the other parent is fit, s/he will be first in line for custody. However that's not a guarantee.
Child support can be modified to reflect the child no longer being the custody of the CP; arrears won't disappear though.

If custody reverts to you, while arrears won't disappear overnight, it can be offset by the other parent's obligation to pay monthly. This means that even if the other parent is able to work and pay, you're not going to see a dime of it as it would go to pay your arrears... in a way.
