Default Conducting Discovery of Asserts in Divorce

My question involves a marriage in the state of: Washington
My ex will not provide me any financial information and tried to have me sign a joinder to agree with petition of dissoultion.
I want to file now because he is dragging his feet. But he is telling me about school loans I do not know he hadn't paid and wont share information of our savings acct, which is his name. Can I "do discovery" before we file do decide if I would be better off signing the joinder or not?

If you don't agree with the statements in the petition, you would not sign a joinder document stating that you agree to the statements in the petition.

Discovery is available through the court after the case is filed.
