First Time Marijuana Possession Offense

In the park wit my Bro in brooklyn NY, cops rolled up on us .We were smoking earlier but was long done by the time they came around .After claiming they could smell it ,conducted a search and found less than a half a gram in a baggie on me , and a roach on my Bro , said they were just going to issue summons to the both of us to go to court , and pay a fine . To my brother its no real biggie. This is my first offense, bUT I'm worried about the fact that I'm a new N.Y.C Employee and in their rule books summons of possession of mary jane is means for dismissal and they so called have their ways of finding out.how if possible can I escape with no record .I have no problem paying a fine or receiving a lesser charge without the possesion part of it thats the killer.

You knew the rules when you hired on with NYC. I guess you will be looking for a new job.

It is a civil infraction, since it was less than 25 grams it is punishable by a fine of $100 for the first offense.
