How to Recover My Laptop from a Friend

I lent laptop to a friend, not he don't want return it back. I have all my tax and ssn data on it. I trusted him. Can i go to small claims court and sue him ? Can i ask to return my laptop? Its in state of florida.

Go to the police station and file a criminal complaint for the stolen property. Provide them with all of the information about the laptop that you can.
