Default Out of State Motorcycle of Deceased Parents

My question involves vehicle registration or title in the state of: CA

I am assuming the last place this motorcycle was registered was in the state of NY.

The vehicle had been non-op since the late 80s. When my parents passed away in 2002, I brought the motorcycle back to CA with me. There was no registration, title or anything to be found on the bike.

My brother was the executer of the will and has/had power of attorney. He lives in Nevada.

How do I go about getting a title for this motorcycle?

    Thanks
    Aaron

Brother should contact the NY DMV to get a duplicate title. If it is titled to the deceased and he has been appointed executor of the estate, he can sign the title over to you.

Would the OP be able to apply for a "lost title" or "paperless title" in California ? Just wondering.

No, because it's not titled there. He has to go back to the state it was titled in.

Thanks. Just wondered if it mattered as to original State of Title.
