Dentist Accidentally Pulled All My Teeth

My question involves medical malpractice in the state of: Dentistry

I went in to have some teeth pulled and my dentist accidentally pulled them ALL. I did not sign a consent form for them all. Then he said oh well they werent worth saving. However he hsd me go through periodontal therapy to save them less than a week earlier. I think i have a no brainer case. Thoughts?

Did you not think something was amiss after the third or fourth pull?

I would presume you had some sorta idea as to what the dentist was gonna do prior to him starting to do any yanking, why did you not raise some sort of objection in a timely manner?

He was to pull 20 teeth and ended up pulling 26 by accident. It was a 2 hour surgery and he'd had me take valium so no i wasnt counting. I had agreed to the 20 with an upper denture and lower partial. Now i have no natural teeth at all.

And really - we can't read which forms you did or didn't sign.

(However if I were a gambling gal, I'd bet that the informed consent form that you signed did include some small print....)

Illinois. No i have a copy of the consent form and its very specific. I even had a dental professional look at it and agreed that it was gross dental negligence and is considered a permanent personal injury. I have a meeting with the State board and then will be seeking an attorney. Its a clear case of doing extractions without informed consent. And the doctor admitted to his office manager that it was an oops and that he had gotten "extraction happy."

Then go to a lawyer in the morning, identify the dentist you say will support your case that the dentist who treated you violated the governing standard of care, and see if the lawyer believes that you have suffered sufficient damages to merit proceeding with a malpractice claim against the dentist who pulled your teeth.

And there's three assistants and a hygienist from the oops office willing to testify. Will call an attorney in morning. Thanks for the support

You may just find that when it comes to a choice between testifying for you versus keeping their jobs, they'll choose to keep quiet.

Well, first attorney turned us down. As far as those employees go, two of them no longer work there and the one that was in the surgery with me just out her two weeks notice in. We just emailed a couple more attorneys so keeping our fingers crossed! I cant bite my tongue bc i have no teeth!!
