    Default Household Income and SSDI for a Dependent Child

    Hello I'm on ssdi I live in nj I have been married a few years and have been collecting ssdi for my disability and also still receive checks for our child my spouse makes 92000 a year and claims us as dependents should I not be collecting benefits for our child?

    SSDI is not a needs based program. It is not welfare. Your wages would affect your entitlement; your child's wages would be used in the annual earnings test; your spouse's wages don't affect anything.
