Last month, I went to my car in the morning to realize there was a ticket. This is in New Jersey. It was a parking ticket for parking in a handicapped spot. The night before, my mother had driven my car, and forgot to put her handicapp parking decal on my car. She does have a handicapp decal, but she just forgot to put it on my car. The thing is that the ticket states the fine is for $276 dollars. On the sign in front of the parking spot, it states that the fine for 1st offense is $100. I called the court, and the secretary told me that they changed the laws, and that those signs havent been replaced yet. She said I have to make acourt appearance, and to bring my mother with her handicapp information. She says she doesnt know what they'll do, but her advise was to do that. Will i have to pay, even though my motheris dsiabled? Even if i do have to pay, should i have to pay the huge fine of $276 even though the sign stated $100 for 1st offense. It is my first offense. What should i do, Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Thanks:
