My question involves medical malpractice in the state of: Kentucky
This forum selection will hopefully make sense in a minute... I got a call (02 23/2012)from our doctor's office...they wanted me to contact my insurance. They say I owe 2000.00 for 3 visits in 2009. They did not send a bill, because they don't send out statements(???)
Visits were : Regular check-up, cholesterol check, follow-up. I had blood work done at the office through a private contractor that has set up shop in an exam room. I called my insurance company and they are checking archives.
Today, they sent a statement...registered mail. With my blood work, they did dozens upon dozens of different tests that had nothing to do with chloresterol...furthermore, they sent a similar statement for my wife for year 2008 that had a date of service listed as a Sunday...they are not open on Sunday. These services were not neccessary, the dates are certianly questionable, and to not even let us know - for years - is unethical...how can we even be sure such tests were done (Insurance archives go back to 2009 only)? How can my wife and I fight this?
Thanks for any suggestions.
