Default Finding and Attempting to Sell Stolen Property

My question involves criminal law for the state of: IL

I found a bike not cared for in the dumpster across from my apartment complex at my university and decided to clean it up and sell it on craigslist. I was arrested when meeting up with the buyer, brought into questioning/interrogation room, didnt answer any questions, requested a lawyer and let go that night after sitting in a room by myself for two hours. The bike ended up being stolen but they let me go after not questioning me. I thought it was all over, but I figure out that i need to go in to court to set a date or if I am found I will be arrested(warrant i believe). What are my options? The bike was taken by the PD, I had no idea that it was stolen from a dormitory on campus. They have no proof of me stealing the bicycle from this dormitory, because I am innocent and found it resting against a dumpster across campus by my residency. I used it for a little while then decided to try and sell it on craigslist. I plan on pleading not guilty but not sure if i can afford a lawyer. I am just so worried right now and it is driving me crazy because i am still under supervision from an underage drinking ticket. I CANNOT break my supervision stipulation and i know that i am innocent. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

    Default Re: Misdemeanor Theft

found it resting against a dumpster
in the dumpster across from my apartment
    which is it?

If the first, you are guilty of theft. If the latter, depending on the situation, it could be theft or simply possession of stolen property.
