Someone came to US 20 years ago as a student. He got a SS that is not stamped as student… that means he can work using it. After 5 years, he got married and was told to put on the immigration papers that they have no SS number so they can get a new one. Now they have two SS numbers. He stopped using the old one after he got the new number. Child abuse and domestic violence police report was written up. X wife reported the two SS numbers to the detective and maybe the fbi.
1) Is it a crime per say to have two SS numbers?
2) How can he join the two SS numbers to be in the safe side?
He was told by someone that SS number belong now to another kid since it was not used for 10 years.
3) Is it true that the SS number can be recycled to someone else after 10 years of no usage?
