Default False Accusations at Work, May Be Terminated

My question involves labor and employment law for the state of: NC

Was hired and trained to be an assistant manager at a QSR restaurant... I was let go today on day 88. Because I was trying to implement company policies and procedures taught to me at the corporate level and handbooks..... I was targeted by the management team. They called HR and made false claims against me I received a performance documentation yesterday stating "You are being described as being disrespectful, harassing, short and rude towards other members of our team at Ogden location. Several individuals even heard you call some of our team members names using profanities and racial overtones".

I was sent home today. Still waiting to hear from the Area Director if I am terminated.

All of these accusations are false. Is there any legal action I can take?

Nope, they don't need an excuse to fire you in NC. You can protest your claim through the management hierarchy, but you've got ZERO legal claim for anything.

"Lynched"?? Really? Someone needs to brush up on their history.

No, there's no legal action you can take. You can speak with your employer about the situation, but if they term you, your option is to seek other employment.

Agree with flyingron. Even if you are fired for an incorrect/false reason, that doesn't make this a wongful termination.

You were brand new and also only the assistant manager. Sounds like you may have come on too strong with trying to implement changes that the site managers were resistant to. It's all about timing and picking the right battles to fight (and how to fight them; a soft touch is often best.)
