I live in Minnesota. The highways can be slippery. I was driving in the right-hand lane, the slowest lane traveling a bit less than 40mph. The lane to the left was traveling faster by at least 5mph. I was driving straight when my pickup lost control. I did not hit any cars on the highway but my truck slid off the highway, down a hill and into a parking lot where my truck hit a parked car. An officer showed up and told me I was driving too fast and needed to put weight in the back of my truck, and gave me a ticket for fail to drive with due care. He did not see the what happened and I have 260lbs of sand in the back and i had new tire put on a month before. I was driving with the slowest lane of traffic. I was driving with care and didn't hit any vehicles on the highway. Should I take this to trail, try to settle with the prosecutor or just pay the fine? Thank you for reading.
