My question involves a marriage in the state of: Texas
If you are married less than two years with a conditional green card, and filing for a divorce can you still join the Army Reserve?
I was told by a friend that if I join the Army Reserve, I can get my permanent green card, and not have to worry about getting through my marriage. As of now I have a 2 year conditional green card and going through a divorce. We've been married less than a year. Can anyone please help..![]()
You can sit down with a recruiter and ask about whether you could successfully complete the enlistment process before your divorce is final and, if so, what options you might have if you lose your permanent residence status. I would not expect that joining the National Guard is going to keep you from going out of status.
