What Should I Do if I Was Assaulted at Work

I work in New Jersey and was assulted at work yesterday by a fellow employee (punched in the head 20 times). My boss didnt do anything so today I filed a report/charges. The police told me there was nothing they can do but send the report through the courts. Now Im nervous to go to work since A: this employee is still there and B: I told my boss that I pressed charges. What should I do? Who is responsible for this? Do I have a case to plead? I Just dont know where to go from here. PLEASE SOME HELP!!!!

Have you also filed a complaint with Human Resources at your office?

You should make certain that the report is documented at work and, if you suffered any injuries, that you have completed any required worker's comp. forms as well.

The person responsible for attacking you is the guy who attacked you. Who else would you think?

Thanks for your help. I dont have a Human resource deptartment/office, I work for a trucking company. Do you reccomend filing a restraining order?
