Definition of Single or Unmarried

My question involves real estate located in the State of: California.

I need someone to point me to a legal code or statute that defines a single man and an unmarried man in the context of title vesting, and holding title. Thank you.

You can search all you want in the California Code, but you probably won't find a definition for obvious, plain language terms. If you're married, you're neither single or unmarried. If you're single or unmarried, you're not married.
