Default How Do I Handle Property Line Dispute

My question involves real estate located in the State of: Maryland.

I am new to a neighborhood , purchased a lot to bild on, and already the neighbors on both. sides have stared marking off thier property lines with no trespassing signs and they are off. I am having re-confirmation of the property boundaries established, but feel as though I will still face oppostion, in the event that I do what will be the next move ?

Geez...you've got some interesting dynamics / prior history going on and you just got there! Are you re-confirming your boundaries using a recent survey of your lot? If there are discrepant bits here and there keep us apprised as there are a lot of nuances and best approaches with property lines. Also, I wouldn't start marking off property lines with signs, lines, or other because it doesn't do much to elicit good feelings towards one another.

Simply have your lot surveyed, which it sounds like you are doing. Also, from your term re-confirmation, it appears that you already have had your lot surveyed, which should include having the corners marked. As an extra special caution you could hire a different land surveyor from the first and compare their findings.

    Stephen,

While I agree with what you say, but I don't think he should have to hire another surveyor. Just inform the one he has already employed, "This may go to court, so please be absolutely sure about your survey".

I, too am a land surveyor, not an attorney.
