Default Can You Get Extra Vehicle Allowances if Your Child Drives Your Car

My question involves bankruptcy in the state of: Wisconsin.

So it's my understanding you can only claim operating expenses for 2 vehicles. So I understand that I can't claim anything for my daughters gas/ins for her car.

But if she didn't have a car, she would use mine. Just wondering how that figures into the amount I'm allowed.

You are grasping in fraudulent areas. It does not figure into it.

Another dumb law. So she would be better off not having a car then I guess.

If she wants a car, she can get a job and pay for it, no?

why would you be allowed to involve her car in your bankruptcy at all? Your BK is due to your financial problems, not your daughters. If she is a minor, the laws simply do not consider you supplying her a vehicle to be a necessity so they provide no allowance for one. If she is an adult, she simply needs to take care of her own requirements for transportation.

If she didn't have a car. I would be driving her places for activities, as she is a minor and in school. So I would use more gas.... Could I include any of that extra expense?

We are not going to advise you to commit a potentially fraudulent act.

Sorry to hear about all of this, but having a car for a minor is a luxury.

I grew up in a lower middle class area, and many struggling families make do with ONE car, and they have to juggle the parent's work schedule and the kid's school schedule. Having to pay for an extra car's payments, insurance, and maintenance would make most of these people bankrupt.

Though we can afford to, the wife and I decided to make do with one car right after we married, to save for a house, and between car payments, insurance and maitenance, we're hundreds of dollars ahead each month. And YES, it was a pain coordinating schedules. After we bought the house, and after we each got good raises, we then got ourselves two cars, and even though we paid for more gas, we found the problem is not with the gas, but with the other expenses associated with cars.

Believe me, if I was going bankrupt, I'll go with one car pronto, but then, that's just me.

Doing without her car isn't an option. We will just need to figure out a way to pay for her gas each month. I'm not asking for insurance money or maintenance, and her car is payed for and not worth much. It's just like I mentioned if I drove her around, my gas expenses would go up. This way my gas expenses are lower and frankly if I had to run her everywhere. We would spend even more then we do now between the 2 vehicles.

Just sucks kids need to pay for their parents mistakes.
