Is it legal in the state of Florida to have a video camera running in your dash?
If your a cop.
Let me do some research.
Why would it be illegal?
As long as it does not obstruct your view out of the windshield, then you should be fine (Pardon the pun) from that angle.
As for violating other people's right to privacy by recording them without their consent, fact of the matter is, they have no inherent right to privacy while they are out walking in public or driving on public roadways!
I don't see any reason why it would be illegal; then again, you tell us why you need as dash cam in your vehicle!!!
I am right 97% of the time... Who cares about the other 4%!
If it also records audio, not in Illinois. Possibly not in Massachusetts or Oregon either.
But it would only record audio within the vehicle.
I see more and more commercial vehicles using this technology.
As a matter of fact - insurance company's love video evidence that exonerates there costumer. Everyone knows that there is 3 sides to every story. Your side, the other party's side and the truth, well that video holds the third side.
I'm not a lawyer, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night.......
