    Default Dangerous Criminal Roommate

I will try to be as concise as possible. And I do not know which area of the forum suits this best.

My roommate has stopped paying rent. This roommate for months does not show signs of getting a consistent job and has stolen from me several times.. around $300 most recently and will not admit it. They have been charged with various small to high profile crimes since the 80's.

Currently they have several different charges with warrants for not showing for court. These charges are criminal (such as theft, stalking, violating protection orders). This is all in Ohio according to the reports. They refuse to leave without a fight and I don't need or want that.

My question is how is the best way to handle this situation.. as in do I call local police and they show up or will they come whenever they get a chance? Do they reveal who called them in or tell me anything about how long he will be gone. I think he may be a dangerous individual as I have seen him threaten death on others before.

Side note: Person has been seen using cocaine multiple times by multiple different people which I could not confirm but also had cocaine charges at some point in his records online.

Any advice is helpful and can provide some detail if needed.

UPDATE: Called the police and he was arrested. Not sure what kind of time he will be looking at.

If you're lucky, that will take care of the problem.

Sounds like this guy had a substantial history of crimes, drugs, and employment problems. This is the kind of stuff you check on BEFORE taking on someone as a roommate. Shelling out a few bucks for a background check and calling a few references is generally preferable to having to sleep with one eye open or wondering if all your stuff will be gone one day.

It sucks but idk if it's possible to get out of your lease ,consider moving and not telling the roommate where you live. It's a hassle but this person seems like a manic,it should be possible to see what his jail sentence will be,hopefully he will be gone for years and not just a few months in county.
