Co-Signer is Late With Payments

I also have a problem with a former friend whom I helped out when no one else would. I loaned him the money for the down payment and co-signed on the loan. Out of 30 payments he has made 20 of them have been late. The latest after 30 days so it went on my credit report. I want out!!! I want to force the sale of the truck even though it aint worth what is owed on it. I don't care I just want out even if I suffer 4k loss. How do I get the ball rolling???

Are you both on the title, or only him? In what state?

I have a similar problem. I'm also having trouble contacting my friend to work the situation out. The account is current but has had delinquencies in the past. I am not planning on any action at this point but would like to know what my options are if there are more late payments and if I cannot contact him. I am not on the title of the car.
