Letter of Demand for Security Deposit

My question involves landlord-tenant law in the State of: Florida

I received a letter of claim against my security deposit plus additional claims (false claims) resulting in us owing extra money. The old landlord already has a lawyer. I am trying to draft my own letter of demand back because several of the items are complete falsification. How do I draft this letter? Do I need to state that I will pursue the matter in small claims at the end? Can I sue for 2x the amount for bad faith in FL?

This forum is a life saver, I have been struggling with this issue the past week and have found little help, thank you to anyone who is able to provide some guidance!

ALSO, how long does the landlord have to reply to the letter of demand??
