My question involves traffic court in the State of: California
Hello all,
i requested to go to court this Thursday for trail due to an speeding ticket, the problem is that court is 5 hours away from where i live, i was expecting to take a day off from work, but the idea of driving 10 hours in total is scaring me, i need to be there at 8 am and i probably wont get too much, my idea was to request traffic school (to attend online) and not having third point in my license. [i was speeding at 97 mph]
I already paid the bail, what would be the consequence of not showing up ?
thank you so much for your responses, i really appreciate it .!
Kind regards,
Bruno
If you had already posted bail prior to the trial, then the court will simply convert the bail amount into the fine amount (more commonly known as "bail forfeiture"), your case is closed and a guilty verdict is entered.
This is pretty typical of most courts, but, not knowing which court you' we scheduled to appear in, you would be better off speaking with them to ensure that there are no pending issues in your case.
I am right 97% of the time... Who cares about the other 4%!
