Statute of Limitations on Having to Take a DUI Class

My question involves criminal law for the state of: CALIFORNIA

Question: My husband had one or two prior dui's and then a final one in 2003. Decided at that point he wasnt going to drive again and get his life together (he was in his 20's then ) he hasnt gotten a licence or driven since (he is 36 now and married with two kids and a successful business) Seeing that it is now 2011 he needs to get a licence back especially since we have two small children. We are wondering if he still has to take a dui class or since so much time has passed without any licence or infractions can he just go take a test or an appeal process??? Any help would be great!!

There is no "statute of limitations" that applies here. He will have to do the class, provide the SR-22, and then go to the DMV with the proof and pay all the fees.

Call your local DMV and see exactly what they need from your husband so he can get his license in order.
