My question involves a traffic ticket from the state of: California
Hi, I am 16 years old... got in a one car accident about a month ago and have been wondering how i can fight the ticket.
Details: the speed limit is 55, i was going 50 ish. I guess I took a curve too fast/sharp and i started fishtailing,(it had been raining the day before so the road was slicked with oil) given that I have limited experience driving, I got scared and could not correct it. I ended up ruining the aft end of my car when it whipped into a tree which was on the side of the road... I guess someone called 911 so the cops/ ambulance came. After talking to myself and some "witnesses" (i use quotes because they were nowhere! near the scene of the accident, they live at least 3/4 of a mile away and there is a multitude of curves in the road, obscuring any view they have) the officer concluded that I must have been going 75 miles per hour. So he wrote me a ticket for going 75. This is B.S. because he was not present at the accident, ergo he did not see it happen. There are no tire marks for him to use as a reference, no radar, no cameras, and no real witnesses.
Someone please help me because I cannot afford to pay $244 for something I did not do.
