Best Place to Register an LLC

Hello,

I am with a group of individuals who are creating a website in which will feature a game. They are planning on purchasing an LLC for their domain/company. Where would be the best place to register one?

I've read online that people claim it is the best to simply register it online - however, is that really the "best"? Also - when looking into it online it asks which "state" it wish it to be affiliated with... Why exactly would the state exactly matter?

You register an LLC in the state where you want to form your business.

The business has to have a "residency".
