Can You Get a Work Permit Based Upon a 15-Year-Old Approved I-130

I've been living in the United States since I was 5 years old, since 1988 I haven't been outside United States.
My Father summit a I- 130 application for me in 1996 I was 16 now im 31 and I only got the letter from immigration where it says that I was accepted and have a receipt
number. I'm a single mother and I have five kids, I was wondering if there's any other way I can get a work permit now.

As it seems exceptionally unlikely that the USCIS just issued a letter on an I-130 from 1996, are you intending to tell us that the letter came back in 1996 but you only just learned about it? Nobody ever filed an I-485?
