Imo This Website is Pointless

I came here to ask a question, and now I pop in just to read and learn. I find this site to be very interesting and helpful, and I understand that the regulars are volunteers who truly want to help. I find that most people who come with questions don't want to hear the cold hard truth, hence the "shoot the messenger" attitude I see in many instances.

You would be surprised at the number of people that expect strangers on the internet to be able to give them the exact phrase that will win their case for them. Oh, and from a handful of details that would have stumped Ellery Queen.

When we can't condense a three year J.D. degree into a sentence or two and, instead, tell the poster to look for an expert, they get mad.

It happens.

But then, when we get the posters who say "okay, that wasn't what I wanted to hear - but thank you, very much".

It makes it all worth it.

The site provides a great sounding board.


Many of the people posting on this site have gone through similar situations and they have helped me understand what questions I may want to ask a lawyer. They have helped me see the other person's point of view or how a court may perceive a situation.

Yeah, there are some that are plain rude. While they are trying to help, I find their message gets lost in their angry tone.

or you subject the posters to your own rude sense of justice and satisfaction through sarcasm and a refusal to help. i've seen dozens of pointless, subjective comments from this forum; i've also seen a few helpful comments. all in all, it seems to depend on the time of the month for some of you and an unwavering case of menopause for others.

people who find pleasure in burdening those in dire need of help with snide remarks: they happen.
