Default A Neighbor Wants To Replace My Fence

We put up a picket fence two years ago when we moved into our newly built house....The lot in back of us was empty, but now a man is building a house there....He told us today that he is tearing down our fence to put up a NICE one.....Our fence is on our line....I don't want him to tear it down because then it won't be uniform with the rest of the fence...What am I to do? Can I tell him he can do it if he puts up the rest of the uniform fence around our house? I know that sounds caddy...but....

What do you mean, "Our fence is on our line"? You mean it is right on the property line, or that it is actually on your property? It may be, depending upon local zoning rules, that neither of you are supposed to put a fence up right on the property line.

It is on our property....maybe 6 inches away from property line...in our city that is legal....

Then it's your fence on your land, and not his to even touch. He can build his own fence behind yours, on his own property.
