Contact by Opposing Attorney

My question relates to legal practice in the state of: California

Hello, I am new to forums so please forgive me if I sound dumb. My question is this...Can the opposing party's new attorney contact me directly for a request or do they have to contact my attorney? I have been represented by the same attorney since 2007. Thank you for your help.

When you're represented by counsel in a matter, and the other party's lawyer is aware of that, the other party's lawyer should be working through your lawyer.

Discuss the details of what happened with your lawyer.
