My question involves criminal law for the state of: Ohio In 2009 I was charged with receiving stolen property. I was arrested and without thinking I stupidly gave a false statement to the detective eager to be released. The detective knew I was lying and I was recommended the diversion program. I obtained a lawyer and in order to get diversion I had to give a true statement of the incident. I was at first advised against doing so by both my family and lawyer. Months started to go by andnothing was resolved, it seemed at a stand still. And everytime I called my lawyer no progress could be reported but he told me that not hearing anything was a good thing. Now its 2 1/2yrs later and I've found out that my case is no longer held in a pending status (it was pending during the debate for diversion), but it says "at large". Oh and I have a warrant that is a "no reason warrant" that recently switched to "unavailable warrant". I have never received any type of mail reguarding this nor my former lawyer. Also forgot to mention that last year I was summoned and completed jury duty (How is that possible if I'm at large?). What can I do in this situation? I'm the sole supporter for my child and I am not trying to see the inside of a prison. I just wanna get a decent job and go back to school. Please help me!
