Unhappy Caught With Stolen Property, Lied to the Police

My question involves criminal law for the state of: Ohio In 2009 I was charged with receiving stolen property. I was arrested and without thinking I stupidly gave a false statement to the detective eager to be released. The detective knew I was lying and I was recommended the diversion program. I obtained a lawyer and in order to get diversion I had to give a true statement of the incident. I was at first advised against doing so by both my family and lawyer. Months started to go by andnothing was resolved, it seemed at a stand still. And everytime I called my lawyer no progress could be reported but he told me that not hearing anything was a good thing. Now its 2 1/2yrs later and I've found out that my case is no longer held in a pending status (it was pending during the debate for diversion), but it says "at large". Oh and I have a warrant that is a "no reason warrant" that recently switched to "unavailable warrant". I have never received any type of mail reguarding this nor my former lawyer. Also forgot to mention that last year I was summoned and completed jury duty (How is that possible if I'm at large?). What can I do in this situation? I'm the sole supporter for my child and I am not trying to see the inside of a prison. I just wanna get a decent job and go back to school. Please help me!

You should be talking to the lawyer who was responsible for handling your case and getting it resolved. As the attorney of record he obviously got whatever was sent out by the court. I would talk to the lawyer and find out what is going on and have him resolve it. If he quacks, I'd tell him he screwed up and he can either fix it or explain it to the bar association.

You need to get back in touch with your lawyer to determine how and when the charge became active again, and why you were not informed.
