    Default Board Director Absent

    My question involves a condominium located in the State of: Florida

    One of the director board member in our HOA in Florida has been absent 4 times consecutive without an excuse.
    Should be removed? How !
    Please help us.

    You posted this as a community rules issue. You're telling us that there's a community rule (or do you mean bylaw) requiring directors to attend meetings unless they have a valid excuse for their absence? If so, why doesn't the board take action on its rules?

    I read the bylaws and there is nothing to help me. This board directors are not going to do anything about this situation because this particular member is the brain of the board and he manipulate the others members. How do we find this rules?

    You posted this as a community rules issue. If you don't know the rules, we certainly won't.

    Normally I would expect any language on attendance and consequences of non-attendance to be in the bylaws.

    Is your real complaint that this person is absent too much, or that they're present too much - if they're absent and not voting, how can they be having such an overwhelming influence on board votes?

    If you're not happy with the performance of the board, you and some like-minded community residents can run for the board and work from the inside to change its practices.
