Child Custody for Unmarried Parents

My question involves a child custody case from the State of: Nevada

My daughter had a child (unmarried) and all through her pregnancy the father expressed he wanted nothing to do with my daughter and the grandchild, texted documented. During the delivery he refused to come to the hospital. My grandbaby is now two months old and my daughter just received a summons from the father regarding custody. He is from the state of Calif. has a criminal background, there is no "Affidavit of Paternity" as required by the state of Nevada. He has texted my daughter and violated the summons using harassment. My question is can we file a restraining order against him for violating the summons and what kind a leg does he have regarding custody? Also, can he keep my daughter and grandchild in Nevada, she's looking to move back home, out of State?

He has every right to file to establish paternity, and to file for joint custody and visitation.

The summons previously identified, as it's described in the summons, "No Harassment". Therefore can a restraining order be issued?

Is there CURRENTLY a no-harassment order against him, or has he filed for custody/paternity and it includes a paragraph about no harassment? It's your daughter who was served, correct?

Yes Daughter received the summons as she is the mother, the summons describes no harassment, threats, communicating, etc. His text's (25 in one day) shows "making her and the kids life a living nightmare", plus more worse verbiage. (I think support enforcement contacted him). Correct, no harassment order against him, but he "signed off" to the summons drafted by his attorney. Therefore, can or should a restraining order be issued?

Also, if he's from out of state (Calif) can he keep her and the grandchild in Nevada?

Tell your daughter to stop responding to his texts.

No, this generally isn't enough for a restraining order - but even if it was, it wouldn't stop him from filing for custody and visitation. It wouldn't involve the child at all.

If he lives in California, he cannot prevent Mom from relocating kiddo back to California.

Just to clarify, because I'm not sure. Is dad "from California," as in once upon a time, but now a resident of Nevada? Or does he still live in California currently?
