Default Arrested for failure to contact the court after receving two tickets

    As a preface, I'm 20 years old:

I was on the way to a family reunion in Alvardao, TX (I live in Arlington, TX) when I was pulled over and given two tickets - expired registration and inspection stickers. Being short on money and knowing that I would probably never be coming back to Alvarado any time soon, I blew them off. A few weeks later, I get a letter in the mail saying that there's a warrant out for my arrest. I still ignored the warning, thinking that if I was ever pulled over in Arlington, they couldn't do anything about the Alvarado incident. Boy was I wrong, I was eventually pulled over in Arlington, arrested and thrown in the county jail for around 6 hours. I ended up having to pay somewhere around $600 to bail myself out of jail/pay Arlington/Alvarado (I guess) and I'm relatively sure I now have a Class C Misdemeanor on my record (I was so angry that day that I tore up most of the papers they gave to me).

With all that being said, is there a way I can get it expunged from my record/hidden from most employers? I've performed a few searches on the Texas Crime Records Service Public Website (http://records.txdps.state.tx.us/) and I don't seem to have any records, which is good, but a little unbelievable.

Thanks in advance for your help.

It isn't clear that you ever resolved the charges. They may remain pending, along with yet another bench warrant. Try checking with the court where the charges were issued, or get the help of a lawyer in the county where you were charged, to investigate their status.
