As a preface, I'm 20 years old:
I was on the way to a family reunion in Alvardao, TX (I live in Arlington, TX) when I was pulled over and given two tickets - expired registration and inspection stickers. Being short on money and knowing that I would probably never be coming back to Alvarado any time soon, I blew them off. A few weeks later, I get a letter in the mail saying that there's a warrant out for my arrest. I still ignored the warning, thinking that if I was ever pulled over in Arlington, they couldn't do anything about the Alvarado incident. Boy was I wrong, I was eventually pulled over in Arlington, arrested and thrown in the county jail for around 6 hours. I ended up having to pay somewhere around $600 to bail myself out of jail/pay Arlington/Alvarado (I guess) and I'm relatively sure I now have a Class C Misdemeanor on my record (I was so angry that day that I tore up most of the papers they gave to me).
With all that being said, is there a way I can get it expunged from my record/hidden from most employers? I've performed a few searches on the Texas Crime Records Service Public Website (http://records.txdps.state.tx.us/) and I don't seem to have any records, which is good, but a little unbelievable.
Thanks in advance for your help.
