    Default Rent Raise

My building is over 80 years old and my landlord recently decided to raise the rent. The rent went from 750.00 to 860.00 a month... i was wondering is this legal and if not what can i do to stop from paying this amount of rent.

    Default Raise in the Rent

If your apartment is not rent-controlled, you are not on a lease, and there is no state law or local ordinance which limits rent increases, your landlord can increase the rent. If the rent is unreasonable for the apartment or community, it may be time to move.
