Angry Inadequate Repairs After a Fire

My question involves insurance law for the state of: kentucky
i had a fire at my home. my insurance adjuster said she had a restoration contractor in their imacc network. she would send them to my hometown and they will help get my home back in order. well this contractor did not go to city hall and get the proper paper work or license or permits. my sons room still smells like smoke and they let an unlicensed person in my panel. the contractor told a painter to spray kills inside my panel which is a code violation against nec 110.12b then i find out the contractor's workman comp insurance is expired. probably why they dodged city hall. what should i do? can i file professional negligence against insurance company for sending me contractor that didnt get proper paperwork and then error and omission against contractor for letting unskilled and unlicense person in my electrical panel. resulting in the city electrical inspector requiring my panel and wiring be redone.

It's not negligence for the insurance agent to look up a contractor who is in the insurance company's network and to give you that contractor's name. If you are dissatisfied with the contractor's work, obviously, the first thing you would want to do is complain to the insurance company to see what they can do to remedy the problems and possibly remove the contractor from their network. What did the insurance company say when you called them about the problems?

If the contractor did not pull permits, you are free to contact the building department and report the situation. That's likely to result in work stoppage, assuming there's work to be stopped, and may result in the inspection of the work performed.

Normally insurance companies pay in installments, and don't release final payment until the work is completed in a satisfactory manner. What happened in your case?

I don't think the insurance company has paid them. I called the building inspector today. New contractors start 2morrow
