Getting a Visa With a Criminal Charge Pending in Nation of Origin

I am planning to apply for my F-1 visa in dis october.But, i have a pending case against me in the court in Hyderabad(india). I was charged for sexual assault and misdemeanor. Does it affect my F-1 visa??. The plaintiff has agreed to withdraw the case against me nxt month.so, does dat show any criminal background on my record??..plz do help me!!
