    Default Accused of Stealing

i am a store manager, and was accused by my assistant manager of stealing. i proved to the owner i did not and have my receipts, but this person continued to tell all employees and customers that i was a thief and was stealing from my store. can i take any kind of action or do i just have to put up with the slander?

Why hasn't the store manager done anything about it?

There are thousands of posts similar to yours so I have prepared a standard answer:

    Get a lawyer.

    Invest $20K and three years.

Sue the bad people for defamation.

If you win, expect them to keep doing it.

If you lose, expect them to keep doing it.

    Stand by for other opinions.

Sr. - maybe it's just me, but... you give some very helpful advice when you're not just pasting your answers, but I don't see this boilerplate stuff you paste as particularly useful.

i want to, but the owner wants to be included in management decisions, and i was just wondering do i have any recourse from myself, to protect myself, and go after this person for slander

Sure. If the person is falsely accusing you of theft you can sue for slander. Does the person have any money you could recover in a lawsuit? What actual damages have you suffered?
