International enforcement of back child support

Hi I am a Canadian that has immigrated to the USA spacifically Texas, I was paying child support when i was in Canada, Since I have immigrated to the USA I was unable to work for the last 2 years. I have accumilated some back child support. NOw the support order has since been tranferred down here in Texas.

My question is in Canada I can have the back support lifted due to the circumstances, but can I have it relieved here in Texas?

Why don't your kids deserve support for the last two years?

Yes they do and i send them what ever i can, but due to the united states not aloowing me to work i now have over 30k us in back support. All i am looking for is a little relief if possable. And also while i was in Canada i never missed a payment or a visit

You may be able to get the order modified in Canada, then get Texas to recognize and seek to enforce the newly modified order. But the U.S. typically does not permit retroactive modification of support, or modification of support judgments from other Hague Convention jurisdictions.
