    Default Accused of Stealing Money

My question involves defamation in the state of:

My boss took me aside earlier tonight and accused me of stealing from the tips. She searched me (on her own) and found nothing. She then asked me to leave. She also told me that i was going to lose my job anyway because i wasn't pulling my weight. (a lie). I tried to question it by saying the amount of work and hours i have put in there (also working it around a nursing degree) should be at least acknowledged....she just looked at me like a small child and said well do you really think that you put in the same amount of work as anyone else? oh i could have gone for her...

    What should i do?

First, tell us where you're located.

But generally, this doesn't come close to defamation. You really should think about looking for another job though.

well she has made me look like a common thief.......which i would have thought would have amounted to some sort of defamation of my character. Also im in Scotland.

At least in the US, if she only says it to you, it's not defamation. She has to say it to someone else before it becomes defamation.
