Damage after Road Construction Area in Moydans France

FRIDAY July 28th, 2006, about 14.55, CONSTRUCTION SITE ON CD 994 at the beginning of the small town MOYDANS, FRANCE, HAUTES-ALPES. Road construction site with traffic lights, about 10 construction workers are on site. Waiting at the lights for clearance.

Lane has beend coverred with crushed stones / gritting material. Chaotic organisation of the
construction area, no separate driving lane and working lane are marked off. Construction
workers still bring out massive volumes of gritting material. While passing construction area
we realize, that tarmac renewal should be made. Under gritting material massive quantities of
liquid asphalt/tarmac which will be taken up by the tyres and then sticking on the cars painting
and underbody.

After a few kilometers of driving with reduced speed we recognize the dimension of the damage
on car, tyres and alloy wheels. Stopping car in L'Epine, calling breakdown service, police
and a representative of the road construction company. Continuation of the trip is impossible,
our car will be transported to Switzerland by trailer.

Photos, names or contact information from other known witnesses, police reports or all other means of evicence are highly appreciated. We have a accident report which - unfortunately - has not been signed by the local police nor the representative of the road construction company.
