Default Assault in Kansas
I was wanting to know if information I obtained from an individual, pertaining to my son's death Dec 2005, if I gave this to a prosecuting atty that this friend of my son's (whom I suspect is involved in my son's death) being's it's a recorded conversation with the person being charged right now with aggavated assault 7th degree against his girlfriend,(from what it states he plea bagained, he has many other counts against him on this 1 incident) making threats against people in his family, if they use this tape in this case, will I be able to use it after the fact, in my son's case? I have a pending investigation of which this person is a suspect right now, where top authorities are investigating the death of my son, it was ruled a suicide at 1st, then information came from my deceased sons friend, and it is very important, and very likely could put my family in danger, because of the people involved. I know he was supppose to go to court this coming monday, then I was checking the status of the court hearing and it was moved to aug 18th. I have not yet heard from the prosecuting atty as to why the jury trial was postponed. It said the "defense called for the delay" and it went from status "jury trial" on 7-31-06 to "plea" on 8-18-06.. I don't understand what this all means, its the weekend and I am worried about what was done at the pre-trial conference Friday the 28th of july, and now I rechecked the status and its all changed.. HELP! It has abb. such as (HE) (JPB) I tired to find these definitions with no luck.

If the prosecutor finds it to be valuable evidence (and admissible), the prosecutor will use it. If the two prosecutions are occurring in the same county, the prosecutor can review the evidence for possible use in both cases.

Thank you for your help.. I wasn't sure If the info I turned over was going to mess up the case that will be up and comming in a differentCounty. I know I wasn't that clear on what I was trying to get across, this is a very complicated case. I was using the info I have to help the prosecution in the case he has now, hoping he will spill all the info he has about my sons death. I'm hoping for a plea bargain. Thank you again.
