Community Mental Health Team Sharing Private Information

Dear all I am new so sorry if I have put this in the wrong place. I suffer from Bipolar Disorder and my life at present is a mess.I have a care co-ordinator apparently, in fact since june 2009 I have had two, the first one seen me twice in the period of 9 months. Care co-ordinator number 2 has seen me 3 times in over a year. I work with another agency (my choice) due to my past substance abuse.

I have a meeting with a new psychiatrist on Friday 29th July it will be the first time I meet him and he's another Locum.

Last tuesday without my consent being given my care co-ordinator held a meeting with the people I work with at the drugs and alcohol agency. I was told of this meeting afterwards and from what I can fathom the meeting was so she could catch up on her notes instead of talking to me she chose to contact an outside agency who I had specifically told the CMHT I do not want any sharing of information to take place or any meetings to be held without my consent being sought and me being present.

I feel as though I am being treated like a child. Am I overreacting or am I right to lodge a complaint?

If you don't believe that your care providers are treating you like an adult that may well be grounds to complain to their supervisors, but it's not a legal issue.
