My question involves paternity law for the State of: florida
Hello my question is how to I start the process of involuntary termination of paternal rights based on abandonment and if I have enough evidence to prove abandonment.
The story.is that the father of my son has never been in my sons life, never seen him, paid child support or anything. I had the same phone number from when we were together up until my son was 4 years old. Also we lived with my mother for some time while together and she lives in the same house and all that time no word. Unfortuneately he is on the birth certificate. Will this be enough to jave his rights taken away? and if it is and we go to court and he all of a sudden decides he wants to start seeing hom will a judge deny it? The only reason I contacted him was I am trying to get a passport for my son to go on a vaction and need his consent. and he wont return my calls. But that is hard to prove. His family says hes in louisiana and I dont know what to do..... Help please.
